It sets goals and targets to be reached by 2014. The Reducing Waste: Implementation Strategy 2011-2015 was released in March 2011. It features revised strategies to make it easier for households and businesses to recycle, reduce littering, increase producer responsibility for problem wastes, and increase investment in waste infrastructure. Starting with the idea of avoiding the creation of waste in the first place, the Implementation Strategy’s effectiveness depends on action at all levels of government, industry and the broader community.
