The work we do has a dual impact;

• By supplementing the nutritional wellbeing, dignity and health of at risk communities OzHarvest enables organisations to reduce their food budget and redirect their funding to education and rehabilitation.
• By ensuring that good food is being eaten rather than going to landfill OzHarvest is helping the environment by ensuring tons of carbon emissions do not pollute the atmosphere

OzHarvest was established in November 2004 and with one van we delivered 4000 meals per month to now delivering 333,300 meals a month across 4 cities.

As at September 2011 we have delivered over 8.3 million meals across Sydney and over 9.7 millions meals nationally. We have 9 vans on the road in Sydney, 14 Australia wide.

We collect 20 tonnes of excess food every week in Sydney alone, that otherwise would have gone to landfill.

Over 350 charities Australia wide are recipients of our rescued food (233 in Sydney)

We recently launched REAP - the regional food rescue toolkit which teaches local communities how to set up food rescue in their area - www.reap.org.au.

Every $1 donated to OzHarvest allows us to collect and deliver a meal to someone in need.
